Raising funds for good causes
Raising money for your nonprofit organization is neither simple nor straightforward. Building a compelling vision of your cause, spreading the word far and wide, increasing your donor base, planning and organizing events, fielding questions from potential contributors, putting together teams of volunteers…all this takes tremendous amounts of time and effort. It's not surprising that most organizations struggle with at least some if not most aspects of fundraising beyond their immediate circles of influence.
That's where MediaShack comes in. We have more than 20 years of experience in charitable fundraising, event organization, volunteer team-building and marketing. Among the many causes we have been actively involved in is the Raise-a-Reader program, a nationwide campaign that empowers today’s children and families with tools to improve their reading skills. Promoted by the Postmedia group which includes the flagship National Post, Raise-a-Reader is helping build a foundation for lifelong learning that significantly affects the quality of life and the social economic well-being of people across Canada.
Not only did MediaShack raise funds directly through its own products (setting aside a percentage of its magazine sales, for example), we also helped craft other Raise-a-Reader linked promotions for the National Post and built an army of volunteers to assist with these across the city.
